Pero, ¿algún científico ha actuado mal? Por supuesto, hemos utilizado la ciencia de forma incorrecta. Igual que cualquier otra herramienta a nuestra disposición, y por eso, no podemos permitirnos dejarla en manos de una minoría poderosa. Cuanto más nos pertenezca la ciencia a todos, menos probabilidades habrá de que se le dé un uso incorrecto.

🌍 Même si aujourd'hui nous en savons beaucoup sur le système solaire et le cosmos qui nous entoure, il n'en demeure pas moins que ramené à tout ce qu'il reste à découvrir, cela ne représente qu'une infime parcelle. L'homme est comme un nouveau-né perdu dans un couffin beaucoup trop grand pour lui. Recroquevillé dans un coin de son lit, il trouve le sommeil tout en allant chercher le contact réconfortant du cadre de son petit monde. Les êtres humains, tout comme cet enfant, sont sans cesse en train d'effleurer les bornes de l'univers. L'astronomie est dans ce sens beaucoup plus qu'une science, elle représente ce qui lie l'homme à son origine et à sa substance même. L'histoire de l'univers est SON histoire. Ainsi, depuis que l'homme a conscience de lui-même, son regard s'est tourné vers le ciel. Et depuis des siècles, il va toujours plus loin. Aujourd’hui, nous allons toucher du bout des doigts ce cadre, et même le dépasser. Bien que l'homme n'ait jamais franchi la limite de l'univers observable, la science lui permet de l'apercevoir sous différents angles.

💥 AU DELÀ DE L'HORIZON COSMIQUE :
• La notion d'infini intervient dès lors que nous cherchons à qualifier quelque chose qui n'a pas de borne, pas de limite, ni de frontière, que ce soit dans son nombre ou dans sa taille. Aussi bien abordé en mathématiques qu'en philosophie, en métaphysique ou encore en théologie, l'infini a fortement marqué l'Histoire impliquant à chaque découverte une évolution radicale des perspectives.
Tandis que l'homme, un être limité et fini, évolue sur une planète elle aussi limitée et finie, il se rend compte que l'univers dans lequel il évolue semble quant à lui infiniment grand. Mais comment peut-on parler d'infini dans la réalité physique de la nature ? A l'heure actuelle, aucune donnée scientifique ne permet d'affirmer de manière absolue si l'univers est fini ou infini. Seules les théories sont là pour tenter de se projeter dans une description de l'univers afin de comprendre au mieux son histoire, son fonctionnement et éventuellement son avenir.
Le caractère fini ou infini de l'univers est intimement lié à sa géométrie. Vraisemblablement, dans l'hypothèse d'un univers fermé, celui-ci aurait alors la forme d'une sphère. Cette géométrie implique un espace fini, mais sans fin. De même, nous pourrions marcher sans nous arrêter autour de la Terre, elle aussi sphérique. Un univers fermé impliquerait qu'il ai un « bord », une frontière, et l'univers aurait alors une masse suffisante pour que l'expansion s'arrête un jour.
L'univers pourrait également être plat, sans limite supposant une expansion à l'infini. Et la troisième forme, la plus admise par la communauté scientifique à l'heure d’aujourd’hui, semblerait aller dans le sens d'un univers plat à grande échelle. L'étude du fond cosmologique n'a observé aucune répétition mais des anomalies, ce qui impliquerait que l'univers, bien qu'il soit plat, ait une forme complexe ou « chiffonnée ». L'idée de l'univers plat est compatible avec la notion d'univers infini.

Il suffit d'observer le ciel à l’œil nu afin de se confronter à l'immensité sans bornes de l'espace. Mais à l'aide des progrès de la technologie et de la science, jusqu'où l'homme peut-il se frayer un chemin dans les étoiles ?

Lorsque les scientifiques observent loin dans l'espace, c'est comme s'ils regardaient loin dans le passé puisque la vitesse de la lumière n'est pas infinie. L'association de la vitesse finie de la lumière à l'âge fini de l'univers détermine une limite infranchissable au-delà de laquelle rien n'est visible pour l'homme : c'est l'horizon cosmologique.

La lumière a besoin de temps pour nous atteindre, mais l'univers étant âgé de 13,8 milliards d'années, le temps de trajet possible n'est, par conséquent, pas infini. Cela signifie qu'une galaxie située à 18 milliards d'années-lumière de nous se trouve au-delà de notre horizon cosmologique. Tout comme l'océan continue au-delà de ce que voient les marins observant l'horizon depuis la vigie d'un bateau, l'univers existe au-delà de l'horizon cosmologique. Nous ne le voyons simplement pas, d'où son appellation d'univers invisible ou non observable.
