Uranus is the coldest planet in the solar system. Temperatures here can dip as low as -225°C or -373°F. Besides that, it has a very dynamic atmosphere. Wind speeds on Uranus can exceed 900 km/hr or 560 miles/hr. One of the most unique features of Uranus is its extreme tilt. Most planets in our solar system are tilted on their axis to some extent, but Uranus is actually tipped on its side by about 98 degrees! This means it essentially orbits the Sun on its side. Due to its unique axial tilt, Uranus experiences extreme seasons, with each pole getting around 42 years of continuous sunlight, followed by 42 years of darkness. It is also one of the least explored planets in the solar system, with Voyager 2 being the only spacecraft to have passed by it.

Hoy vamos a tocar este marco con la punta de los dedos, e incluso ir más allá. Aunque el hombre nunca ha cruzado el límite del universo observable, la ciencia le permite verlo desde distintos ángulos.

💥 MÁS ALLÁ DEL HORIZONTE CÓSMICO:
- La noción de infinito entra en juego desde el momento en que se pretende calificar algo que no tiene límites, ni fronteras, ni en su número ni en su tamaño. Ya sea abordado en las matemáticas, la filosofía, la metafísica o incluso la teología, el infinito ha tenido un fuerte impacto en la historia, lo que implica un cambio radical de perspectiva con cada descubrimiento.
Mientras el hombre, un ser limitado y finito, evoluciona en un planeta también limitado y finito, se da cuenta de que el universo en el que evoluciona parece infinitamente grande. Pero, ¿cómo podemos hablar de infinito en la realidad física de la naturaleza? En la actualidad, no hay datos científicos que nos permitan afirmar de forma absoluta si el universo es finito o infinito. La naturaleza finita o infinita del universo está íntimamente ligada a su geometría. Presumiblemente, en la hipótesis de un universo cerrado, tendría la forma de una esfera. Esta geometría implica un espacio finito pero infinito. Del mismo modo, podríamos caminar alrededor de la Tierra, que también es esférica, sin detenernos. Un universo cerrado implicaría que tiene un "borde", un límite, y el universo tendría entonces suficiente masa para que la expansión se detenga algún día.
El universo también podría ser plano, sin límites, lo que implicaría una expansión hasta el infinito. Y la tercera forma, la más aceptada por la comunidad científica en la actualidad, parece ir en la dirección de un universo plano a gran escala. El estudio del fondo cosmológico no ha observado ninguna repetición sino anomalías, lo que implicaría que el universo, aunque plano, tiene una forma compleja o "arrugada". La idea de un universo plano es compatible con la noción de un universo infinito.

Basta con mirar el cielo a simple vista para enfrentarse a la inmensidad ilimitada del espacio. Pero con la ayuda de los avances de la tecnología y la ciencia, ¿hasta dónde puede llegar el hombre a las estrellas?

Cuando los científicos miran lejos en el espacio, es como si miraran lejos en el pasado, ya que la velocidad de la luz no es infinita. La asociación de la velocidad finita de la luz con la edad finita del universo determina un límite infranqueable más allá del cual nada es visible para el hombre: es el horizonte cosmológico.

La luz necesita tiempo para llegar hasta nosotros, pero el universo tiene 13.800 millones de años, por lo que el tiempo de viaje posible no es infinito. Esto significa que una galaxia a 18.000 millones de años luz está más allá de nuestro horizonte cosmológico.
