Ezir-Kara was the name of a horse in the 30s that always came first in horse racing events, he was said to be the fastest horse in the history of Tuva. Coincidentally the owner of Ezir-Kara was arrested during the political repressions of the 30s, but the horse managed to escape, so the horse is seen as a symbol of Tuvan independence from tyranny
