We used to only know about the planets that circled around our Sun. But now we know that there are rocky worlds and huge gas clouds that circle other stars. They have a great story to tell.

The early history of these planets would have been very, very violent. Planets are made the same way everywhere. They come from the dust and other things that are left over after stars are born.

So, if they're all made the same way, what makes them so different?

As it turns out, the universe is full of galaxies, gas clouds, stars, and planets. There are eight worlds in our sun's system. But now we know that they are just a small part of the huge family of planets in the sky.

It's a very important moment in the history of science... To be sure that there are other systems of planets out there. They happen a lot. And in our Milky Way galaxy, which has 200 billion stars, there are probably dozens of billions of planets.
